Light & Temperature
  • Sunlight: Prefers full sun to partial shade. During the low-light months of early spring and late autumn, maximize exposure by planting it in an unshaded spot.

  • Temperature: This hardy variety thrives in crisp conditions and easily survives light winter frosts. Ideal germination occurs between 10°C and 16°C (50°F–60°F).

🌱 Sowing & Spacing
  • Early Spring Crop: Broadcast seeds thickly under glass/cold frames as early as January. For open ground, sow directly from late February to mid-April.

  • Late Autumn Crop: Sow seeds directly outdoors during August and September to guarantee a lush late-season harvest.

  • Depth & Spacing: Plant seeds 1 to 2 cm (0.5 inch) deep. Space seeds 3 to 5 cm apart in rows spaced 25 to 30 cm apart, thinning them later to avoid overcrowding.

💧 Soil & Water Care
  • Soil Requirements: Requires highly nutritious, moist, and well-draining soil with a neutral pH between 6.0 and 7.0.

  • Feeding: This fast-growing variety is a heavy feeder that specifically demands high amounts of nitrogen and potassium to fuel its rapid leaf production
